Sun Dog Training Facility & A K-9 will again be teaming up for 2010 and will be bringing you the 2010 "O"Gility Competitions! "O"Gility is a combination of obedience and agility. We will also be holding training classes for those of you who may not have equipment to practice on.
The rules, format, schedule and costs are listed below.

Jump heights will be set according to your dogs height and age.

Adult Beginner “O”Gility
On Leash
Heel and Sit
Upon the Steward/Judges command the handler will heel with the dog to the first red flag and have the dog sit. The handler will wait for the Steward/Judges to give the signal to advance to next flag. This will repeat for the remaining red flags. The Handler will then stop at Cone 1 and wait for further instructions.
Possible points, Heel – 10
Possible points, Sit – 15
Heel and Down
Upon the Steward/Judges command the handler will heel with the dog to the first yellow flag and place the dog on a down. The handler will wait for a signal and then repeat the down at the next two yellow flags. The Handler will then stop at Cone 2 and wait for further instructions.
Possible points, Heel – 10
Possible points, Down –
Cone Weave
Upon the Steward/Judges command the team will advance to Cone 3 and face the weave. They will then demonstrate their heel through the Cone Weave, entering from either side. The handler will place the dog on a sit when the team reaches Cone 4.

Sit/Stay and Recall with Food Distraction
Upon the Steward/Judges command the handler will leave the dog and walk over to the vehicle, pick up the bowl of food and place it on the ground next to the red flag. The handler will then walk over to Cone 5, turn and face their dog. After 10 seconds the Steward/Judge will give a signal and the handler will call the dog to him.
Possible points, Sit/Stay – 10
Possible points, Recall – 20
Sit/Stay with Car Distraction
Upon the Stewards/Judges command the team will advance to Cone 6, turning to face the car. The Steward/Judge will instruct the handler to leave the dog on a sit, go over to the car and open both back doors. The handler will then enter on the driver side and shut the door. After a five second count the Steward/Judge will signal the driver to exit the car and return to the dog.
Possible points – 30
“O”Gility Course Loop
Upon the Stewards/Judges signal the team will go through the “O”Gility Course Loop, starting with the tunnel and finishing with the Double Jump.
Possible points - Tunnel – 15
Possible points - Low Dog Walk – 15
Possible Points – Lattice Jump – 5
Possible Points – Broad Jump – 5
Possible Points – Barrel Jump – 5
Possible Points – Double Jump – 5
Free Style
Upon the Stewards/Judges command the team will advance to the Free Style area. The handler will have 30 seconds to demonstrate any tricks that the dog has been taught.
Possible points – 5
The height of the jumps will be adjusted according to the dog’s size and age. Older dogs will have lower jumping heights if necessary.

Adult Advanced “O”Gility
Off Leash
Heel
Upon the Steward/Judges command the handler will heel with the dog to Cone One, place the dog on a sit and wait for further instructions.
Possible Points – 10
Cone Weave:
Upon a command from the Steward/Judge, the handler will heel with the dog through the cones, entering from either side. They will stop at Cone Two and face the weave poles.
Possible Points – 10
Weave Poles:
Upon a command from the Steward/Judge the handler will advance with the dog to the weave poles. Only the dog may enter the weave pattern, the handler will continue to advance on the side, attempting not to break stride. Upon reaching Cone Three, the team will turn and face the window jump, placing the dog on a sit.
Possible Points - 20
Window Jump:
Upon a command from the Steward/Judge the handler will leave the dog at Cone Three, walk over to Cone Four, turn and face the dog. The handler will then call to the dog, commanding it to jump through the Window Jump.
Possible Points - 10
Down in Motion and Down/Stay
Upon the Steward/Judges command the handler will place the dog on a down at Cone Four facing the car. The handler will leave the dog, go over to the car and open both back doors. The handler is to call the dog and down the dog between the red flags for full points. Once the dog is on a down, the handler will enter the car from the drivers side, close the door and start the engine. The Steward/Judge will make a 5 second count and signal the handler to shut off the car. The handler will exit the vehicle and call the dog to him.

Possible Points, Down/Stay – 10
“O”Gility Loop
Upon the Stewards/Judge’s command the handler will walk with the dog over to Cone Six. The handler will then direct the dog through the “O”Gility Loop, starting with the A-Frame and ending with the Broad Jump. Afterwards they will relax and wait for further instructions.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR
SUN DOG TRAINING FACILITY'S ADULT "O"GILITY COMPETITIONS
Adults competing at Sun Dog Competitions are required to adhere to the rules set down for competition.
Good sportsmanship is expected at all times, both in and out of the ring. Poor sportsmanship will be penalized. This statement applies to parents as well.
Proper and humane training and handling methods will be emphasized and monitored at all times. Handlers may be firm, but must be thoughtful and never impatient or heavy-handed with their dogs.
Handlers must be alert to the needs of their dogs, other competitors and their dogs and spectators.
By entering a Sun Dog Event, the owner, handler and/or parents or guardians of the handler of any dog, agree to accept the decision of the judge, or judges, as final no exceptions.
All dogs must be a minimum of six months old to enter any Sun Dog Competition.
Owners must provide proof of current inoculations for each dog entered. The dog must be inoculated against Rabies, Canine Distemper and Canine Parvovirus in order to compete.
Female dogs in heat will not be allowed to enter the Sun Dog property.
Any dog which bites a judge, steward or spectator, or exhibits excessive aggressive behavior inside or outside of the ring will be excused from the competition with a refund of the entry fee.
The use of alcohol and illegal drugs at Sun Dog Events is prohibited. Violators will be asked to leave the premises and will be banned from any further Sun Dog Events.
Sun Dog reserves the right to impose penalties for conduct which may be deemed to not be in the best interest of Sun Dog Training Facility and the spirit of its competitions.
Dogs must be on leash AT ALL TIMES, unless competing in the Adult Advanced "O"Gility.
Owners must "pick up" after their dogs.
Children are to remain in the Competition area at all times, accompanied by an adult.
